A couple of weeks ago, I was mindlessly scrolling through instagram, enjoying everyone’s Me Made May wears, and I stumbled upon a post from Itch to Stitch requesting pattern testers. I eagerly applied and was super excited to be selected as a pattern tester. The Vienna Tank pattern was released today so now I can show mine off! 🙂
So this year for Me Made May, I decided I was aiming for one me-made item per week. I’ve only been sewing for about a year, and I seem to mostly make dresses and lingerie, so I knew my everyday-wear options were slim. Without further ado, my 2016 Me Made May roundup! The first item… Continue reading Me Made May 2016 Roundup!
Ever since I discovered By Hand London, I’ve seen some amazing renditions of the Anna Dress floating around the internet. I absolutely love my Georgia Dress, but I didn’t really feel drawn to making the Anna Dress for a long time. I don’t know what it was, but I just wasn’t feeling it for a while.… Continue reading By Hand London Anna Dress
Lately, I’ve been noticing a lot of my panties are wearing thin. I haven’t bought a lot in over 2 years, so it’s not terribly surprising. But I hate the idea of paying $5 or more for a pair that is cute, but not everything I’ve ever wanted, so I decided to start making my… Continue reading Ohhh Lulu Panties Galore
I have a friend who adores NYC. She’s been a few times and still posts pictures at least once every week or so from her trips. I saw this free pattern on Hugs are Fun and thought it would be fun to cross stitch it for her. So, without further ado…NYC Skyline! I used an… Continue reading NYC Skyline
This may be my favorite make thusfar. It’s my first Watson Bra Set (with matching panties!!). I’m so happy wit how it turned out. A few months ago, I ordered two bra and panty kits from Blackbird Fabrics. I had made a “practice Watson” before the kits came and decided it was about time to make… Continue reading Dusty Mauve Watson Bra Set
After a couple weeks of not sewing and of feeling miserable for some strange reason, I realized that sewing is my self-care. Sometimes it’s frustrating and annoying and sometimes it makes me want to cry. In spite of all the projects I’ve put aside when they were so close to done because they didn’t fit… Continue reading Maritime Shorts
Ohh, maxi skirts, how I love you. You hug my curves at all the right places, and give me one more day of spring without shaving. You come in all different colors, and can be paired with almost any shirt I own. Why do I only own one of you? Time to make a DIY… Continue reading DIY Maxi Skirt
This year, I wanted to make a beautiful dress for myself for Easter, and I’ve also been wanting to sew some vintage patterns. I decided to make this dress as my first for Vintage Pledge 2016. I gave myself plenty of time before Easter (a couple of weeks) and it worked out perfectly!
Time for a #flashbackfriday post! I made this guitar quilt for my mom’s birthday last July. I had come across the Groovy Guitars fabric by Michael Miller and immediately thought it would make an amazing guitar quilt for her. It’s a cross between her two favorite things: teal and guitars! I proceeded to research and… Continue reading Rockin’ Guitar Quilt
